In the DMV NY Road test, you get driving test points deducted for every mistake, but don’t fret. Even though the test runs for only 5 – 10, try to stay relaxed! You don’t have to get a perfect score to pass the drivers road test, so don’t give up!
If you’re curious as to how many points to fail driving test, it’s 30. The examiner will give you driving test demerit points depending on the severity of the mistake which can run from 5 to 15 points. Just don’t get a 35 point deduction because this corresponds to failure.
There are some mistakes that can immediately get you a failing grade. These are:
- Going over the speed limit
- Entering the wrong lane of traffic
- Not stopping at a STOP sign
- Anything dangerous!
